Bible Text: Psalm 26 | Preacher: Ruben Chupp | Series: Advent
We will hear a lot about “peace on earth, good will to everyone” during the holidays. But look around: Peace? Hardly. But we humans have a bad habit of “confirmation bias,” basically finding what we look for, finding reasons to support threadbare opinions. But “Mary’s Song” (the Magnificat) alludes to things like: wholeness, well-being, peace. How did Mary come to such words in a time like hers, somewhat like our day? There is a peace that passes understanding, even for a single pregnant teenager in first century Israel. That’s what we will look at this morning.
